GREEN FLOORING PRODUCT from Ancestral Floor Coverings is best seller for PC Flooring in the Lower Mainland

Rodger Schoeber, of Ancestral Floor Coverings, recently announced that PC Flooring is the number one seller of their product throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland of BC. This is an environmentally preferable product that is well priced and incredibly practical. Unlike most wood floor finishes, if you scratch it, you can fix just the damaged area.

Extensive research and development has placed Ancestral Floors at the forefront worldwide in the manufacture of pre-oiled flooring. Ancestral has brought the consumer the highest quality, most innovative flooring choice available today.

“Imported from Italy, the six component vegetable oil is applied to the Canadian wood flooring product where it penetrates and crystallizes in the wood fiber. A surface is created that resists moisture and soil and yet allows air and vapor to pass through.

No solvents or harsh chemicals are used in the Ancestral process, yielding a "green" flooring product that ensures interior air and environmental quality. The penetrating oil actually increases the density of the wood. Grammage is measured to insure consistency. Five more quality control stations monitor the oil line to assure that the finished flooring is of the highest quality.

The combination of sawing technique, penetrating oil finish and quality control make the Ancestral product line perfect for commercial as well as residential applications. Logs used for Ancestral Floors are purchased from certified growers and are hand selected by highly experienced buyers ensuring a quality product from start to “Pre-oiled” finish.”

PC Flooring is proud of this recognition and looks forward to assisting customers with their flooring selection. Contact a representative today.

PC Flooring Receives Prestigious Award

Consumers' Choice Award

PC Flooring is proud to have been recently awarded the Consumers' Choice Award TM for Wood Flooring Supplier for the Vancouver area, by the Consumers' Choice Institute (Canada).

This award is unique in North America, as the winners are determined by consumers and not by a panel of judges. It covers a broad range of categories of interest to the public and the business community and publicly identifies establishments that have been voted by consumers as being their choice for excellence.

PC Flooring was founded in 2000 by Tony Scott and Lars Andstein. Today, they have a staff of 30 overseeing a high-end showroom in central Richmond and a strong share in the retail marketplace. Their focus is to provide a full range of flooring products and services along with product education.

Tony, Lars and their staff are extremely proud to have been awarded this seal of excellence, as the award not only constitutes an achievement of their efforts, but more importantly, it represents the most valuable reward of all - the knowledge that they have earned the trust and loyalty of their customers.

PC Flooring Goes Green: Flooring for the Environment

Forty percent of the world's energy and material resources are used in the building industry. As consumers of floor covering and flooring products and services, our purchasing habits shape supply and demand. Increased sales of environmentally friendly products begets increased production of those products.

It is up to each of us to preserve the planet and make it a better place for our children and grandchildren. To do our part, we at PC Flooring consider the following questions before purchasing materials or working with suppliers:

  • Where do the raw materials come from? Lower-cost materials usually mean a higher cost on the environment. Unfortunately, overharvesting and poor forestry practices destroy the environment and reduce sustainability. We have chosen not to support companies that engage in unsustainable practices. We would rather pay a bit more for high quality, properly forested products.
  • Where is the product manufactured? The further a product is shipped, the more fossil fuels are consumed. Therefore, locally made products are preferable. Transportation costs, both financial and environmental, are lower as well!
  • Is the product the best choice for the desired use? Will it be durable in its application? Are there ways that impact the environment less to get the same result?
  • Finally, how can the product be disposed of when its useful life is over? What is the cost of disposal, both financial and environmental? Can this product be recycled or repurposed into something else?

At PC Flooring, we endeavor to educate consumers on how various floor covering and flooring products are produced and what types of pollution their manufacturer creates, both inside and outside the home. Our goal is to install quality products that are not only durable and low-maintenance, but are also economical and healthy in the long term for both customers and workers. We believe that by purchasing these types of materials, consumers will inspire the marketplace to provide more green solutions for floor covering products and all building needs.
